Exhibits change often. Recently they had Deco Japan, it was one of the best exhibitions I have seen at any museum. The history exhibit is under renovation, can't wait to see it.

Although it seemed three quarters of the museum was closed or being renovated the local art was very nice. They do have one of the only remaining 47 star United States flag on display. The statue garden was great. The conquistador statue, the lady on the bench. Very nice.

We were able to fit in this visit at the end of 7 days in NM & COL before we flew out because it opened on a Sunday morning at 9.00am. We spent two hours at this well done museum near Old Town and across the street from the Natural History & Science. There's a good over view collection of NM artists, a wonderful history recap of the State and region. Both worth your time. We are fortunate to be able to secure the exhibits that visit here. The organization and presentation are very well done.

Although we came for the history and art from Albuquerque, the highlight of our visit was the special exhibit on Japanese Deco. I didn't even know that Art Deco made it to Japan. The pieces are wonderful and the explanations are very informative.

Just behind Old Town the Abq museum is set in a picturesque area with beautiful bronze statues depicting the history of Albuquerque. The museum itself houses many fine works by area artista. Well worth a visit.

very nice History and Art Museums, this place is very informative, i learnd a lot about new mexico in a very short amount of time,lots of great stuff to see and learn about here , this place is a must see,

I visited here when I first moved to NM, and thought it was a great way to get an overall feel for the city and it's history. A single visit should be enough for the casual visitor, but it's worth repeat visits.
