easily accesable with lots of birds. not to many tourist at this time of year so a good time to go. Was impressed with the info available at the info center
A must-see for anyone remotely interested in birds. Always a great variety of waterfowl and other birds in season. Boardwalk and observation tower allow for close views, and good photography. Thanks to the town and its co-sponsors, together with the volunteers, for this and the many other free and excellent birding spots in Port A.
Lots of good trails. Check with them first to see what is expected to be there during your visit. Bring camera w/zoom and binoculars as they won't land on your arm.
Although not an avid birder, Port Aransas lives up to its name as it goes above & beyond to provide birding opportunities & information. There are mostly free, except for the annual Whooping Crane festival (last weekend of Feb), guided by knowledgeable volunteers, opportunites to bird in Port Aransas.
It was great getting out and walking two miles on their trail. The scene is beautiful. However, we did not get to see very much wildlife. We did see tracts for the coyotes. We will go here again.
This is just a a great place to see some of the areas natural habitats, anitmals and plants. It is somewhat hard to find but worth the effort.
Lots to see here, great birding site, well maintained & clean and best of all it is free!
