Just reminded me of movie buildings from my day.The strong smell of real popped corn. Young lady at front door invited us in to just look around.

Visited the Byrd on a date night. Brought back memories of old going to the movie in a builidng with the single screen. Even though the seats are old and not as comfortable as the newer venues, I still enjoyed the night. The price cannot be beat.... $2.

What a great experience this has been for us over the years. The architecture, the timelessness of stepping into what is a part of history. All for a buck.99! Fresh popcorn to boot. The only downside is the seats are not as comfortable as you might like. I would pay for my own if they'd let me.

Richmond's landmark movie palace. Be sure to come Saturday night for the Mighty Wurlitzer concert before each $2.00 movie.

Seeing a movie in this historical building is awesome. Before the show, the organist rose from the ground and played a skillful 15 minutes in place of the movie previews. I didn't even see the interior of the Byrd Theatre in downtown Carytown, but was blown away by the outstanding exterior architecture and attention to detail. My husband and I visited the Byrd Theatre December, 2012 to watch the movie, "It's a Wonderful Life." We have never been before & were excited to finally go. While the main theatre was in "good" shape, the bathrooms can stand to be updated. They appeared to be original & due to that, a bit creepy!

Cheap movie and popcorn!! Parking was a small hassle but other than that its a great place to get out every now and then

Go and see a movie here you will step back in time and not regret a moment. I spent as much time looking at the architecture as I did seeing the movie. A great value not to be missed .
