The Lincoln-Herndon Law Office is right across the street from the Old Capitol and is worth the visit. It is a simple, small office with few furnishings, but it is where Lincoln practiced law in Springfield and is worth the visit just for that. The last stop is a small gift shop.

We enjoyed our tour here, but... There are no original furnishings. They have recreated what Lincoln's law office with Herndon might have looked like, and we may well have been treading the same floor boards that Lincoln did. Beyond that, much of the building requires imagination. The court room that has been recreated did not actually exist in the same... More

This tour lasted about 30 minutes with David as our guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and it was great walking the same place that President Lincoln and his partner practiced law. Be sure to check out the statue of Lincoln and his wife and 2 boys on the sidewalk in front of the building. Make sure to stop... More

Took an 8th grade class here. The tour last about 30 minutes and the tour guide was very informative. We walked in Lincoln's foot steps. This building actually looked like it has had the best care and up keep.

This is still a work in progress but the court room and post office were very interesting and such a contrast to life today.

After having visited so many other sites associated with President Lincoln, this was anti-climatic and somewhat repetitive. It was great to be where President Lincoln practiced law.

It was a cold, blustery day when I visited this site. I happened to be the only person "on tour" and appreciated the docent's time and insights. She was able to give me a verbal picture of how the place functioned in Lincoln's time and the poetic license taken with the present building with the law office name emblazoned on... More

We really enjoyed this tour, after waling through the Original Capital building across the street. Another must stop. They are in the process remodeling the first floor back to original of Lincoln's time. A must stop along with Lincolns home and Tomb-Great history lesson!

Small museum, short tour, no charge. The guide was well informed, we were able to walk right in without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon. Lots of information about his law practice, his partners and the era. Please make a donation so that they can continue to stay open! Other museums in Springfield have closed due to lack of funds...
