Spent around half a day there. Enjoyed paddle boating, pony rides and cycling with my kids. A great place for sit and relax too.

Lake Gregory was supposed to be a major tourist attraction in "Little England" It was disappointing as the lake is not well maintained. The walkway around the lake (whatever little of it exists) is patchy and poor.
This location has boat riding, bicycling, walking, and picnic activities. It's good to go there when the weather is good for outdoor activities. Wear some warm cloths as it's windy and cold. Also there is an excellent Strawberry cafe in front where they offer so many variations of berry meals.
Nice calm place and loved the Pony ride along the lakeside. A lot of locals are around so the place is a bit crowded with locals. They offer a swan boat tour but I wasn't able to enjoy it.
The gregories lake is the main attraction in Nuwaraeliya. The sorrounings are developed recently to attract tourists. The park along the lake is a very nice place to relax in the saliburious climate. The racecourse and the entrance to the montaine rain forest Gallaway is adjacent.
No shade and they charge foreigners 200 rs just to use the path. Locals pay 40 . You can walk around it using the free path closer to the road.
Lake Gregory, about a kilometer outside the town centre, is a lovely blue mass of water set against the surrounding hills. It's usually fairly quiet, and pedals and boats can be hired on an hourly basis from the boat club. It also makes for a pleasant walk round but it's too dirty to swim in.
