The Vivekananda Rock Memorial is one of the most beautiful places on earth!Try and take the ferry ride between 8&9am;as later in the day the rock heats up and maybe a little difficult to walk around barefoot. You could opt for a higher fare so as to avoid standing in the long queue. The ferry ride is short and enjoyable. Once there... More

Very clean and beautiful place. Need to take a short ferry ride to get to this place. It has a room for meditation just below the main structure..Only advice from my side, try to reach before 10, ferry services start at around 8 or 8 30. This place (in fact whole city) gets incredibly hot and humid after 10-11.

Visiting again after more than 25 years :-) This place is serene as ever. Luckily there were no queues as we visited on weekday and school vacations are coming to end. There are two categories of ferry tickets - Normal Rs 34.00 and special Rs 169.00. These are only for coming to the Memorial. On return there are no separate... More

We took the ferry to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial after waiting for two days as the ferry service is stopped if the winds are very strong. Normal tickets are at Rs.34 per person and special tickets at Rs.169/- We opted for the special as there were over 100 people waiting in the queue. The ferry is large but the life... More

A good windy place with an opportunity to learn more about Vivekananda. There is too many people for my liking, but a good place to spend time in if you are here.

This is a southernmost cape of India, where the seas meet, beautiful scenery and sunrises. One has to take the ferry which is usually fully loaded, and only a short ride away. Fare was minimal.

Worth visiting this place for experiencing the architectural design behind the building on top of the rock. Also, the meditation hall too. Very fast wind when you stand outside on the rock, take care of kids and elders as needed. Nothign to scary though.

Beautiful Monument with Spiritual (Blessings of Kanyakumari) & Location significance (South most tip of India, where Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal merge). Jetty to the memorial takes 5 minutes, but the wait time on a Sunday was 3 hours. We opted for Special entry (Though expensive) and saved 3 hours. Had a pleasant meditation in the meditation hall, beside... More
