We go to the Bonaventure a lot. We have friends resting there, and it is one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the united states without a doubt. But if you get a chance to do a tour with Shannon Scott, take it. He is a very talented story teller!

Had a nice morning stroll here on our last day in Savannah. It's very lovely and beautiful big trees. Worth a visit for sure especially if you like to walk!

My husband and I could have spent hours and hours reading some of the history of this cemetery. Many famous, infamous and even not well known are here. It was fascinating to read the stories included in the pamphlet. The grounds themselves were amazing. Designed much like a park. Worth a see.

Even though it sounds morbid, the cemetery was beautiful. Some of the gravestones and markers were fabulous. The oldest burial site we saw appeared to be the late 1700's, early 1800's. There were fabulous oak trees and foliage. Lots of azalea bushes. I can only imagine how gorgeous it must be when they are in bloom. It was sad however... More

This is a wonderful old cemetery. There are many old monuments and old trees with moss hanging off the branches. We drove through it instead of walking and took many pictures. A must see while in Savannah.

My husband and I, along with our 9 month old, visited this cemetery this afternoon and definitely recommend it. I know that sounds creepy but I swear its not. Visit Bonaventure and you will feel the peace that the place inspires! Its beautiful and every headstone tells a story.
