My daughter lives in this area and it is sooooo cute. The few days we were there, we had the opportunity to visit a wonderful art show "on the square". Plus we stopped in to the Peabody Library (part of Johns Hopkins, I think). The main "room" of the library was the inspiration for Beauty & the Beast --- enough... More

I liked this area. Lots of interesting residential blocks, and some very unique stores along the main drag. A good place to stay, actually in walking distance of Amtrak if you are a walker. Quiet at night, but many less touristy restaurant choices.

We took a nice walk around the Mount Vernon neighborhood after our visit to the Walters Museum. While we strolled through a small park, viewed Baltimore’s Washington Monument, historic buildings and a beautiful historic church, virtually everything was closed on a Friday evening in the summer. We could not find a place to get bite to eat.

Lovely little enclave in this big city . Well worth the short walk from the tourist area but better still, take the Charm City free bus

Nice neighbour to stroll around on a nice day. In the afternoon, I wandered into a nice wine shop, a French cafe... In the evening, nice restaurants, cafes and bars.

Very nice area, filled with charming townhouses and little cafes. It seemed prettier than the rest of the city...

Being from Baltimore, I really like the area of mount Vernon for so many reasons. Transportation is accessible from the light rail to penn station and from the museums, restaurants and historic churches. I love the architecture of the area, would appreciate the opportunity to live in this part of town. There are churches in every direction and students heading... More

This is probably one of the most famous and beautiful parts of Baltimore City, Mount Vernon is full with charming townhouse and little cafes and it's also know by the gay life in the area. It's definitely a place to see in Maryland.

Most stores are closed on Sunday's, and curb side parking is at a premium. Many buildings contained "for rent" or closed signs, real merchants were far and few inbetween. Trying to find a place to eat for lunch was a lost cause, after walking over 12 streets, there was very little to claim our attention. The Walters Art museum is... More
