The walkways are either paved or boardwalks. There are three walk-through aviaries which allow good photo opportunities along with shooting from the boardwalks.

We had family in town and drove from Savannah to Jacksonville to take my 3 year old to this zoo. He was absolutely wowed by the current dinosaur exhibit! We purchased the value tickets and it was just right for us. The train takes you and drops you off on the other side to walk around. They have a good...

There are some reviews that state they have seen better. While that may be true keep in mind this is Jacksonville. Though it is a large city land wise they don't have some of the budgets that the large ones do. With that said it is a great zoo. I take my family many times throughout the year and you...

The Jacksonville Zoo has really tried to put the anmals in large natural looking enclosures. There are areas where you can walk above the animals and see them roaming freely below. They have a great interactive area where you can feed Giraffes or touch Sting Rays. They have expanded the Children's area with play areas and water areas. The grounds...

Great place for a family to spend the day! Best part was the special Dino tracks exhibit. Worth every penny!
The zoo is large and beautifully landscaped. There are lots of different animals to see. The zoo has different additional attractions throughout the year. Currently they have animatronic dinosaurs spread along a trail in the woods.
The zoo in Jacksonville was below our expectations. While there are quite a few animals, there were nearly no docents to answer questions. While the plantings along the paths were very nice, the cages in many cases seemed smaller than they ought to be, old and a bit uncared for. Animal presentation was far below flora presentation. Perhaps the most...

Spent the day at this great attraction with my 20 month old great grandchild. Plenty places for food and at resonable price. All the bathrooms were well kept and clean.
Parking is free, with plenty of room. A great place to visit for all ages. There is a lot of walking, so be prepared. Best to get the upgraded ticket to...

Going to the zoo is something different to do and a wonderful respite away from the big city. Jacksonville zoo have the usual big African mammals in enclosures where you can see elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, antelopes and giraffes. They also have temporary and permanent exhibits available such as the Sting Ray Bay and the Butterfly Hollow. I do recommend coming...

We have gone to the Jacksonville Zoo many times in the past few years, and it is always nice. Always something to learn. Lots of very nice exhibits. Train ride is a good investment, cuts down on some of the walking. The place is huge, and requires lots of walking, no shortcuts. The florida wildlife exhibit is my son's favorite...
