Interesting collection of buildings along the east bank of the Schuylkill River. There was ample free parking and rental bikes available. Worth a brief walk.

Colors of the boathouses. At night they are guards of the river. Beautiful in the spring or winter especially when the light and color reflect on the water.
I took a friend for a stroll along Boathouse row and we enjoyed a nice walk while taking in the sights around us. There ware many statues tucked away as you stroll, which give some history, knowledge, and insight to the area. It's a fun place to walk, ride, skate, or run, but you have to constantly be on your...

It was a weekend day with great weather and a lot of people were rowing, jogging and walking around the grounds. What a beautiful site!
Some people see Boathouse Row as a blur of light as they whiz down the Schuylkill Expressway; others drive past on the winding East River, a/k/a Kelly, Drive. But it is best seen by strolling, rollerblading or biking. A busy line of boathouses, nicely maintained by the clubs and universities. Stop and watch the boats on the river, and stroll...

Boathouse Row is a beautiful place to take a stroll along the river and Kelly Drive. You would never in a million years think that this exists in the middle of a city on the east coast of the US! The architecture of each house is beautiful and charming, as well. Highly recommended.
This is a unique area in Phila. I've never seen a boathouse row in other cities...the river is beautiful, the houses are all interesting and unusual....the river drive presents a wonderful place to walk, bike, skate, run, or just walk and relax. There are areas to rent boats or bikes as well. Great family activity for Philly people as well...

charming row of historic boat houses. you can walk on the street side, which is fun. but the best view is from the other side of the river... unfortunately, we never found a good way to walk that route but driving by at night, with the new lights picking out the architectural features, was magical.
It's a great day when you can avoid rush hour by sitting along the river, watching the crews train on the water. Breezy on the river-perfect for a hot day. It's hard to believe you're in the Greater Philadelphia Metro area when you're surrounded by an abundance of nature.
These old Boat Houses are beautiful. Right on the water, a great walk along near parks. A good way to see a bit of history.
