We took the gondola to the top of Mammoth Mountain. At 11,000 feet the 360 degree views are too beautiful to describe. A must do in Mammoth.

Took the scenic gondola ride to the top of Mammoth Mountain, it was very quite and very few people had made the journey up. We are not skiers so it was nice to go off season. Unfortunately the cafe at the top was closed so we could not stay longer for a snack, not sure if this is due to...

We ventured to the mountain via the ski gondola scenic ride. One word to describe - AWESOME. All the attendants were very dedicated to ensuring we saw and photographed all we wanted to atop the mountain. We couldn't have asked for a better morning as the sky was blue, the snow was still there for a spring visit and the...

Plenty to see here even during the summer. Catch the Earthquake Fault, the falls, and hike up to the Devil's Postpile. Take a hike to the cinder cones if you've got the legs but keep an eye out for bears. The Inyo Craters are something to see too. There is a Motel 6 in town and some nice places to...

We did the scenic gondola and the views were wonderful. It was off season with some spring spiking going on, so lots of things were closed there. It was worth it for the views.
we loved it, a ride to the top, took pics and watch skiers and snowboarders leap from the 11,000 ft peak - WOW!
64 degrees in parking lot, 40 degrees and windy on the top - take a jacket, binoculars and a video ro catch the young ones on the halfpipe.....away they go!

Quaint little town, along with snow covered mountains made this a very pleasant trip, along with the side tours to see the different sites around the caldera area, it was a pleasant trip.
The snow was spring snow. The temperatures were perfect for "T" shirt skiing. You'd have to be here for a week to ski every run. There's something for every level of skier.
Although much of the giant Mountain is closed for the season and there's no more giant powder to fluff through, we've had a great time in late April. There's enough people here to make everything feel active and fun, but the slopes and terrain parks are wide open. I've been learning to snowboard on the small jumps, since no one...
