It's a wealth of eateries, Barnes & Nobles Bookstore/Coffee-shop and the huge amount of colorful people. Moreover, you'll enjoy this place better if you come in the days that the Green Market operates, this way you can get some great fresh produce, cakes & cookies from farmers, or take some great photos of the wealth of colorful NY people, and... One of the best places to hang-out under a tree or on a bench. There's always vendors from everywhere in and around the park. Sometimes local artists that sell some unique t-shirts or you might actually see a protest happening, or count the numbers on the National Debt building. Union Square is a New York staple not to be missed.... More

There's never a dull moment at Union Square Park! The backdrop of the park itself is a setting that draws everything and everybody - all fun and interesting. From the artists to the farmers market purveyors - all are interested in your enjoyment of the experience. Check it out.

Historically, Union Square was a place for radicals to express views. It's still a little like that. There is always something going on here.

Great place to hang out while having a bite to eat and watching a chess game or two. Gets a bit crowded but catch a good spot and just people watch!

I wandered for at least a good hour. Really enjoyed myself. the seafood looked exceptional and it took all the strength I had not to grab some... More

I haven't fed the squirrels in Union Square in a while, but I remember them as being some of the gutsiest little rodents I've ever seen. I would be sitting on a bench enjoying a sandwich or snack of some kind, probably from the Whole Foods facing the park on 14th Street, and suddenly I'd see a squirrel hopefully checking... More
