Wow, what a tremendous beer selection! I've never seen any beer menu like theirs. Service was a tad slow but once the beer started flowing, all was well. Cheese plate and pretzels were great as well. If you like beer, you will be in nirvana.

Enjoyed a couple of pints here, where there was a wide range of national and international beers. Good atmosphere.

Just tell the staff what kind of beer you like and they can narrow the choice down to three, then describe how each differs from the other. Excellent. Daily choices like beer with habanero, can be supped along with inhaling sandwiches and chips, even a ploughmans is possible. Not a place to be on a busy Thursday or Friday night,... More

How many places can you drop by and get two, count em' two! cask ales. And a great selection of brews in the bottle... like all the way from Switzerland! and Italy! and Bier de' Garde... holy smokes! Okay, enough! Love the beer, but the food.... was not so good. My wife, already a three time visitor, told me as... More

We found this bar because of TripAdvisor and it was only one block from our hotel. Definitely worth a visit for a quiet night (we went on a Sunday evening) with a few different beers and the yummy cheese platter. The waitress was pleasant and attentive, but we also never felt pressured to order more or make a move when... More

I found this place on my last trip to NYC & absolutely love it! Ended up stopping in on all three nights. If you like good beer you'll love it too. They have a huge list of beer to choose from. I've become a boring old fart so I stuck with my usual pint of Guinness. Not that I'm complaining... More

Stopped in with some friends while in the City. Truly a tremendous selection of beer - the beer menu states it is printed daily and there appears to be over 100 beers available. The waitress was not too knowledgeable about the beers - merely reading selections off the menu as we asked some questions, but still she was friendly and... More

Great bar with an amazing selection of beers and good food too. The best bar I visited during my trip in New York. Bought one of their Growlers as a souvenir, looks good on my desk and as a ginger man myself it is pretty apt having a big glass beer bottle that says The Ginger Man on it.

This used to be my favorite bar in New York.  Then came the cigar craze and the front lounge area was turned into a cigar bar.  No matter how good the beer and the bar was, it wasn't worth smelling of cigar smoke once home.  That of course has changed for awhile now, and I'm not sure why it took... Life's tough when the hardest decision of your day is which beer to have next. Excellent selection, great atmosphere and the pretzels make a good bar snack. Bottoms up!
