One needs a year to visit as it is so vast! You need the supplied map to find your way around. So very much to see. The American Wing is worth a visit alone, you will want to return time and again.
I could spend weeks in this place and not finish seeing everything. This is probably one of the best and biggest art collections in the world.

The punk exhibit was not as expected...to much fashion. disappointed. Much of the modern art exhibit was closed.

Everything about this location is amazing. As soon as you walk in your breath is taken away by the architecture while the exhibits from impressionism to pop-art really give you a feel for the artists and times they lived in.

I loved this museum! It's my favorite museum in NY! The Egyptian part surprised me, even after seeing the louvre!
Stunning displays and live chamber music to enjoy a drink or a bite. Imagine that! Incredibly different art in various galleries. The Impresionists were my favorite!
This was my 3rd visit and I always choose a few exhibits to avoid being overwhelmed. This time the Photographs from the Civil War was on exhibit and was outstanding. My husband and I spent 5 weeks touring Civil War battlefields in 2003 and I still saw new photographs and new information at this exhibit.
