There are so many areas and stories tied to this ship that served the US military faithfully for so many decades, it can surely take a full day to explore them fully. The aricraft, the crew quarters, the flight deck, the planning areas, the cooking areas--FACINATING!

Helpful guides, and great history. They have a lot of aircraft from different eras. Everything you wanted to know about an aircraft carrier is at your disposal. I could go on and on but you would have to experience this carrier to believe it.

The ship is great to visit but unless you salivate over machinery the tour is really long. Expect to take about 3 hours.

Make sure you wear comfy shoes, lots of walking. My husband & I both enjoyed our time on the USS Midway.

My sister and I decided to come aboard the Midway for an hour or so but were so intrigued we stayed for about 3 hours. Especially interesting were the retired military folks who shared their firsthand experiences. Very educational!

We were not able to finish the tour, as we ran out of time. Also, my legs had about had it with all the ups and downs on the ladders (stairs). A tall person would have to be mindful of the many doorways. If your knees are bad, the raised bottom of the door frame gets to you as well.... More
