We can meet you at your hotel, or the airport or at the Cruise-ship pier. Private Tours are a great way to see hilly Boston, in particular, because with our smaller vehicles,we have access to the "off the beaten" track neighborhoods and to the "hidden Boston" which you cannot see from a tour trolley or bus ( which are prohibited entry to residential areas of this 400 year old city), including our "Little Italy" and the 3rd largest Chinatown in the USA. Tours can be tailor made to meet most requests, and we can take you to see where Americas Revolution began in Lexington, and Concord, visit homes of authors, see Walden Pond and Harvard University ( which Gen. Washington borrowed to use as Americas first army base 1775 ), visit botanical or horticultural gardens and cemeteries, view interesting architecture, colleges ( more than 100 colleges/universities in Greater Boston !), Also Fenway Park, the Cheers Bar, site of 1st World Series, Freedom Trail and much, much more. Also, we provide private tours to Salem, the "Witch City" and to Newport,RI, coastal Maine,Cape Cod and Autumn foliage tours to Southern NH and Vermont. We love School group tours, half our guides have teaching certificates, several are published authors, and former National Park Guides, also,we accommodate handicapped visitors. Fees are reasonable. We also provide limited, long duration ,New England and the islands, overnight tours as well, please inquire. « less

With all of the great reviews written earlier for Boston Private Tours, it wasn't hard for me to contact them to arrange a tour and after talking to Michelle, I felt almost a part of their group. Ruth was our guide for my wife, a friend and myself. It was fantastic. It was very informative, lots of history, but more... More

I just visited Boston with my 84-year old mother and my sister-in-law, who is still recovering from a car accident that resulted in a hip replacement. We had one day to see everything we possible could and for obvious reasons walking tours or hopping on and off a trolley were just not options. We had a private tour with Declan... More

I had a two groups use Boston Private Tours on separate days and both tours were outstanding. My company hosted a conference in Boston where we also plan a spouse event for the significant others of our clients. The spouse event included a private tour with Declan as their tour guide and they had the best time. The group started... More

My company was interested in entertaining an Executive Candidate we were looking to hire whose flight back to Malaysia was severely delayed to the most recent snowstorm. On VERY short notice, I did some internet research on group and private tours and decided to call Boston Private Tours based on the overwhelming positive feedback on Trip Advisor. I spoke with... My daughter and I recently spent 5 days in Boston for her 5 th grade project. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made Revolutionary War Boston come to life! They were great in identifying what concepts/sights were top of mind for us. We learned the historical significance and many stories only a subject matter expert would know. We spent 6... More

We have always wanted to see and experience Boston and its surrounding historical sites. The question was how to do that. Fortunately we found Boston Private Tours and Bill! Bill is a retired teacher who loves the history which surrounds him from one end of Massachusetts to the other. He discovered we were elementary teachers and immediately assigned the guide... More

We were a group of 6 visiting from Australia. Bill arranged the six hour tour and Declan was our guide. The service from this company was excellent. We were collected at the station at the appointed time, the tour took in all the history and sights we had requested, and Declan provided local knowledge. By taking the private tour, we... More

After corresponding with Bill for several months, he knew what we wanted to see on our tour. His son was our tour guide/driver and was very knowledgeable of the areas we visited. We have arranged for private tours off the ports we have visited from our cruises and this was one of the best!

Customized to your specific interests, Boston Private Tours exceeded our expectations. We communicated with Bill several times via email prior to our day in Boston (preceding a fall cruise), so we got to see everything on our list and then some. We spent the day with Francesca, whose knowledge of the area and associated history kept us entertained while she... More

We spent 2 great days with our guide Bill McDonough of Boston Private Tours. My wife is a Revolutionary War history fan, and we had Bill showing us all of the sites. He was very flexible regarding our plans and did his best to accommodate us. He's also a really nice guy. Spring for the extra $100 per day to... More
