Worth the trip for a picnic, or ice cream, fly a kite, run around, etc! Great for kids / dogs! Bring a picnic, get icecream there!

The view from Castle Island is lovely and you can see aircraft landing at the airport. However, it is not a peaceful place due to the throng of people and unleashed dogs. Although MOST (not all) people clean up after their mutts, CI is the primary is the feces receptacle for the S. Boston residential community. It is a little... More

There is a nice walking path around the castle and there is always a magnificent view. Keep in mind that the castle is seasonal and isn't open year round. Lots of grassy areas to fly a kite on, play fetch with your dog or read a book in the sun.

Dirty and boring. Castle was closed. So Nothing really to do. Small playground but nothing much more. Better of spending time somewhere else on south end boston

Even if you aren't into the history of the place its a great place to walk or jog. Parking can be a little tricky sometimes but its great exercise. Watching the boats in the harbor is fun. There are benches around to stop and sit.

I love going to Castle Island in the summer. It's a beautiful walk and you can bring your pup. Parking can be tough depending on when you go. Definitely stop for a snack or ice cream at Sully's.

I walk here all year round. Cold and bracing in winter. Cool breezes in summer. Always refreshing. Good place to picnic, people watch, or just relax. The fort is interesting to tour. You can see the cannons mounted on top walls. Easter sunrise mass is special even if you aren't religious. March to November, Sullivan's is a must stop. Best... More

I grew up going to Castle Island. Now, I take my kids there. Great walking/jogging spot. Lots to see. If you want to get out and go for a nice walk along the harbor or fish for flounder, its hard to beat!
