This center was a joy to walk through. All the beautiful crafts were amazing and so well made. We loved looking at everything. I definitely recommend this as an attraction to visit while in Asheville. So many talented artisans have contributed many beautiful objects to admire.

this is a gem of a place on the blue ridge parkway. it has a very varied collection of exhibited crafts on the second floor, and changing things for sale on the first floor. there were great old photographs of craftspeople of the 20s on the walls, along with some of their products in the cases. the stuff downstairs was... If you are on the Blueridge Parkway near Asheville, NC, don't miss going to the Folk Art Center. It has crafts from all the local artisans displayed in a large, well appointed showroom. There were beautiful hand made crafts to purchase. Worth the stop on the Parkway.

We have been to the Folk Art Center many times. Since we live in the area we are also lucky enough to have met a number of the artists. They are really really talented people. All are members of the Southern Highland Craft Guild. Frequently there are artists there giving demonstrations. It's a very attractive place. There are also some... More

This was on my "must see" list and I wasn't disappointed. The permanent exhibit showcases most forms of art and crafts and then there's an exhibition of current arts and crafts which are for sale. The gift shop has a great selection of handmade items.

The Folk Art Center has always been a great place to view the arts and crafts of the mountains. During our visit this time we we treated to a demo of woodworking on a lathe.
