The dark desert sky provides a perfect backdrop for viewing the night sky as you've never seen it. Alex doesn't concentrate on the planets and constellations, he takes you back billions of years to the edges of the universe. His powerful telescopes let you view faraway nebulae, star clusters, and other amazing things. And Alex is a charming storyteller and... More

This was such a fun experience. Alex, the guide, did not point out constellations; anyone can do that with a planetarium. No, Alex showed us amazing things such as the Herculean Cluster and other sights that were over a 100 million light years away. He had a very powerful microscope, and everyone had ample time to look at the sights.... More

We traveled to Moab from Florida for our family vacation and my husband found Redrock Astronomy tours. It was the best experience we had there! I thought it was great that instead of just commentating about the stars we were viewing, the guide engaged us and our 9yr old son, giving him a chance to answer questions (or at least... More

My husband and I had a great evening with Alex. He met us in Moab then we followed him up to the Mesa where there is less light pollution. While he was setting up his amazing telescope he gave us some great history and perspectives on telescopes and astronomy. Once it was dark he started sharing with us some of... More

It was great to have a full dome of dark sky to view- we got very lucky with the weather and no moon up. Alex mixes the perspective of other traditions (including Native peoples) with scientific astronomy and history, to give a nice introduction to stars, nebulae, supernovae, and whatever planets are visible. We found it to be a thoughtful... More

I hired Alex to be the grand finale for an off-road tour for a group of wealthy clients. He showed up at a very remote wilderness location on the final day of our tour on the night of the solar eclipse in Utah this spring. Getting there from Moab involved a couple hundred miles on-road and several grueling hours off-road.... More

We had a great time with Alex, he has great equipment and is very knowledgeable. We found his website and arranged the outing through email, he even gave us tips for our trip. Alex also gives tours to see petroglyphs. In the astronomy trip we saw Jupiter and its moons with very good detail, binary stars, super close up of... More

Our evening of stargazing with Alex was lots of fun. Husband and I learned a lot about those twinkling stars. Alex is full of information and stories. He takes the time to adjust his telescope for each individual. Definitely recommend this activity.

We arranged this trip by email from the UK several weeks in advance. It really looked like an interesting trip. We met Alex just outside Moab as agreed and drove up separately towards the state park. Alex is very interesting on lots of subjects, not just astronomy. We saw different types of astronomical items, including galaxies, nebulae and planets, finishing... More

The presentation was phenomenal. My 15 yr old son and I learned a great deal about the sky. Alex was able to answer all questions in an understandable way. He made everyone feel comfortable about asking any type of question. It was impressive how he could take a nearly incomprehensible concept about our universe and articulate it into a mind... More
