I was born in NY and know Central Park, but when I first visited San Francisco as a kid, I was blown away by Golden Gate Park. As an adult, I still find it a must-visit whenever I get to San Francisco. The Japanese Tea Gardens are always a delight -- you have to try the tea and cookies --... More

So much to do here. Plan at least two day-long visits. Verify food availability before you get too deep into the park as it can be a long hungry walk to a restaurant.

This is definitely one of my favourite destinations that I won't stop visiting whenever I travel to San Francisco. It is a huge green lung in the city that pleases local joggers, bikers, skaters and the like. All the major tourist attractions in San Francisco seem to be built around it. Not only that its beauty is breathtaking, it is... More

Because of time constraint I could not spend much time here but I really love this place. Nature lover will definitely like this place.

Great park to walk around and relax in. Plenty of things to see and do with a nice boating lake and even free Lindy dance classes on a Sunday (11am-2pm)

We bike through the park and it still took us a while to go from one end to the other and back. I like the Rose Garden. We did not visit the Tea Garden this time because of time.

Wonderful day out. The park is huge so dont expect or try to do everything in one go. A couple of half days would be best. The de Young museum is excellent. I think you can go up the observatory tower without paying the entrance fee, and the view up there is one of the best in the city. You... More

I really enjoy the Golden Gate Park. My favorite area: The Japanese Tea Garden. An area to relax and enjoy.

We loved this park. Good to get there early due to parking along the streets. We climbed Strawberry Hill where you can get a distant view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city. So many things to do here!
