We crossed the bridge on out way the Muir Woods. We learnt about the construction of the brige and some others stories behind the scenes. Nice to see, then we went under it on a ferry.

Everyone who comes to visit San Francisco must visit the world famous Golden Gate Bridge, as it really is a stunning structure. On this occasion we didn't have the opportunity to walk across, but we did travel across in an open top tour bus twice (a very windy experience), and got a few good pics. There are so many lovely... always fun to walk across the bridge. There is a new visitor center just below the SF entrance which looks interesting (haven't been in it yet). Wear a warm jacket as it gets windy.

Walked the whole bridge up & back-took about 45 minutes. Amazing views from up there! Lots of sailboats were out on the water & it was a beautiful clear day when I went, so lucked out there. There's heavy foot traffic & some people are obnoxious, but that's to be expected around touristy areas. It was an amazing experience though-you... More

Seeing firsthand and up close this inordinately famous and spectacular 8,981-ft (2,737.4 m) long and six lanes wide bridge became a daily quest during a fog-shrouded autumn week. Its appeal was magnetic, irresistible, and inexplicable. The best vantage point I found was at Fort Point, where the bridge was close enough to touch it. Even then, for much of the... More

Traveled to San Francisco from Canada and made a 12 walk from the hotel to the bridge. I'm glad we made the hike and it is amazing the actual size of this bridge.

enjoyable walkling all the way across. Didnt like that there was no food nor drink at all on other side! not even a water vendor! Also no public transport back to other side.

I rented a bike and ride across the bridge. That was a really fun way to experience the bridge. There is a beautiful park at the base of the bridge and lots of areas for photo opportunities!
