Went to Granite Peak during Spring Break week for just a day of skiing--couldn't manage Colorado trip this year. After staying offsite in Wausau, we breezed through an easy rental process and hit the slopes at 9:00. As noted by other reviewers, most runs are steep at top then flatten out, though we had a blast on the rollers. Kids... More

In the fall you can ride the lifts to view the fall colors. This pace has become a premier facility. I drive through the parking lot and am amazed by the amount of out of state people that cone here.

My kids are beginners to early immediate and I can ski OK and mom doesn't ski at all. The main lift goes to the top but you can get off halfway up. This is the point of where the runout to the bottom is a green run. Good to go up and down with the kids and if you want... More

Instead of heading south for spring break, we stayed home and headed north to Granite Peak for April skiing. Timing was perfect. We skied April 3rd and the snow was great, and the hill was well groomed. Good selection of runs. Fast chair lifts. Nice facilities. Did not try the food, but expect to pay ski hill prices. Since we... More

My 13-year-old son and I skied Granite Peak the weekend of March 23-24. It was our first time here, and we really enjoyed ourselves, though it is a long ride from the northern suburbs of Chicago where we live. I've skied all across the Midwest, including Chestnut Mountain, Illinois, two resorts in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and various Wisconsin... More

We returned after 2 years and had a great time! The beginner moguls and the several levels of glades skiing were really awesome! My kids are pretty good skiers but had never done moguls or glades before and by the end of our 3 days were loving both! We particularly liked the new "Dasher" chair - the terrain there included... The family and I had agree time at Granite Peak. Onditions were great, and luckily there were few people on the hills(mid march, mid week). Kids had a blast boarding. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Will definitely return to ski these wonderful trails.

There just aren't may places to ski in the Midwest that provide a good experience. This hill is good. It is steepest as you get off the lifts and then it flattens out for a safe, quick ride to the bottom. I ski, not ride, so I cannot comment on the terrain parks, but they looked good and many were... Went to Granite Peak with some friends - one formerly accomplished, non-practicing skier, one who's ski'ed for 41 years, one who only did cross country before, and me, who never did any. This mountain is the tallest in WI. It has great instructors (Joe) and ample facilities for new, middling and advanced skiers. It is a bit far from Chicago... More

We had a great time at Granite Peak with our family of four and the grandparents. Something for everyone to ski on at their level. The kids took lessons and learned a lot and had a ton of fun. The instructors were really nice and good with the kids-We especially loved Brittany and Fred. My 5 yr old is parallel... More
