The building itself is well worth a visit, and the collection inside is unusual and spans many eras and styles.

We took my parents (who are from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada and in their mid 80s) here while they were visiting us, as my mother loves art. It was our first visit here, and we were extremely impressed by the building itself, the variety of exhibits within, and the excellent staff (including "The Janitor"). I am not a big "museum guy"... It is one of the most interesting buildings I have ever been in. The building itself is a marvel of modern art.

Set on the lakeside with walkways in either direction and easy parking beneath this spectacular building was a treat inside and out. The collection is diverse and well displayed, staff friendly and welcoming and even the coffee's good. There are interactive areas for kids and adults alike, so it's engaging and you can learn more than just looking. But the... More

If you like art, you will love this. The view is amazing and the architecture of the building is great. We were served a five star meal here and would recommend this to anyone.

Worth visiting just for the architecture. A very unique museum with a nice collection of art, skewed a little more to the modern and post impressionists than most museums. Visited with my wife and our highlight was the nice collection of work by Gabriele Munter, someone we were not aware of. The price of admission seems a bit high however.

Not only an excellent, balanced collection of art spanning all periods in a Calatrava designed building but also spectacular views of the Lake from the lobby featuring a permanent Chihuly and from the excellent restaurant on ground level.

after re-visiting chicago (& the new millenium park with the "cloud" and the frank gehry designed open-air concert venue), the drive up to milwaukee was an easy one. stay as close to lake michigan as u can (the bahai temple in evanston, the "gold coast" suburbs of wilmette, kenilworth, & winnetka) or take the faster inland route. as u enter... This may be one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. The di Suvero 'addition' ranks with the Sidney Opera House in aesthetic appeal.

First of all, the design of the building is absolutely gorgeous. You need to go and see this thing. Not only that, it is close by a great location where you can relax, have a stroll or even exercise around the lakefront. Inside the art museum you will find several art exhibits, a lot of it being modern art. It... More
