I adore folk art so I was in heaven touring this museum. It was fascinating to actually see this collection of historical and casual artwork.

I like the tours- very informative. A great museum with wonderful folk art & textiles. Well worth the side trip.
As many others have stated, we ended up here on a rainy day. But we should have put this on our MUST SEE list for Williamsburg. It is filled with an eclectic collection of items: portraits, armory, furniture, sculpture, and one of the most amazing collections of silver. As a bonus, you enter the museum through the old hospital where...

The collection are well worth a visit. I particularly enjoyed the furniture and folk art, but there is something for everyone, from the earliest money in America, to guns, pottery, quilts, musical instruments, and silver.
I didn't even know the museum existed, but ventured in when the weather wasn't cooperating. Although folk art isn't totally my thing, it was very interesting and fascinating to see the china, silver and more over time. This museum is definitely worth a visit. It's free admission with a ticket to Colonial Williamsburg. There is an exhibit/room specifically for kids....

We loved the Folk Art tour. The woman was fantastic. (Wish I had remembered her name.) Definitely worth seeing. I'd go back...
Enjoyed the folk art at Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum. The guided tours were great and very informative. Would recommend seeing the museum.
We liked the well done display techniques, the vast extent of the museum, the comfort, the fantastic art and much more! We could have spent a whole day here, and been thrilled. On a day when Williamsburg had 5.5 inches of rain in three hours, this was a gift and a lifesaver! The frequent areas to sit and relax and...

To think we could do it quickly prior to hitting the road was naive and to do it on a day that was raining … well, it was packed with people and kids. We still enjoyed seeing quilts, paintings, musical...

I wasn't expecting the quality or caliber of art, atiques, and information that was here. It is also a great deal larger than I was expecting. A great activity when you need to get out of the elements if you are a Colonial Williamsburg.
