It is a bit to a drive to see the view but it is worth it. The view of the Valley is worth the drive and the star itself is worth a look. More

We drove to see the Roanoke Star, which you can see from anywhere in town. It was a pretty drive to get there, but we only spent 5 minutes at the star itself. A nice view, but since we were there in the winter, too cold to linger. If you like telling people you saw "The Biggest," then go. I... More

unless you want to see a really big star. I don't get it. It's nature, like any other park or actually like all of Va. And it's a big star. Big deal. More

It doesn't seem like there is much there. I have taken visitors up to the "star" - essentially a small crowded parking lot at the base of the metal star lighting structure. There are restrooms. More

Having lived here in Roanoke for almost 5 years, let me say I NEVER get tired of coming up to mill mountain. First off this is a city park so admission is free.
