Great and easy way to explore the gorges and see some very pristine nature and golden autumn leaves. Loved the ride and would recommend doing this.

We had a lovely day at Walhalla Historic Township, the weather was great for this time of year(Autumn). It was not a holiday or a special day, yet everything was operational including the train. The most interesting part was the Cemetery. Very sad when you read the headstones and it makes you realise just how difficult life was in 'those'...

This is a destination not to be missed. An integral part of Australia's gold mining history, it is like stepping back in time.
The last town in Australia to have electricity connected, the integrity of the town and surrounds has been kept intact, surviving devastating floods and fires over the decades.
A great day out for all ages, the volunteers...

Having a toddler in a pram we found there were quite a few things we couldn't do around Walhalla but the ride on the train was a great experience for all the family. As it is only a short trip with a stop at the other end it was ideal for our young daughter, but it was also enjoyable for...

My wife & I visited Walhalla while spending some time in Erica. The railway was the best attraction around, we were told, so we thought we'd give it a visit.
A short drive to Walhalla (very windy road, so be careful if you get carsick easily), and there it is, the railway station. You actually drive past where the train...

The Walhalla train is a nice way to enter the historic township of Walhalla. There is some good views of the surrounding bush . When you get to the end of the line you walk from the station into the wonderful old gold mining town which has many interesting buildings to look at. Walhalla also has a gold mine which...

The scenery is beautiful in most places but there are some large ares of blackberries that needed to be gotten rid of. The diesel train engine stunk of diesel and it needs to be a steam train to be of the era.
Nice scenery with a few good photo opportunities, and quite relaxing. Great for families. There's not much to see at the end of the line while they turn the train around - mainly a small room in the station with a few mementos for sale.
Well done to the volunteers who reinstated the railway line between Walhalla and Thomson (on the Thomson River). A mighty effort when you see the terrain to be worked in. The trip is lovely as the train with old NSW Railway carriages trundles down the steep sided valley of Stringer creek, looking down on tree ferns and into the canopy...

Very scenic round trip on a charming railway, to get an idea of the area surrounding Walhalla and the challenges faced by the settlers in the town.
