Considering how close it is to Monticello and being the only place to eat nearby its a good place to eat. The food is good and they dont try to rip you off like other tourist locations. We stopped by here after being turned away at the Jefferson Plantation due to huge crowds. This is a perfect look at a historical tavern / road-house from the late 1700s. We love this place. The tour was fun and interesting. The buffet was delicious. All of the items from the chicken to the sides were so good. The dessert was yummy, we had the ice cream cookie. Love it!!! Great service too.

When visiting Monticello, stop by here for a great lunch. It is a little pricey, but the atmosphere is cool and visitors to Virginia love it. I usually only go there when someone is treating ($20 a meal), but you do get as much as you want....it's cafeteria style: with costumes.
