Easy access from Route 103 with large boulders to climb / sunbath on. A flowing 23 foot waterfall that is 15 feet 9 inches high. the area is washed bedrock 90 feet wide ending in a short cascade and a large pool of water. Downstream is a second smaller cascade around a small rock island.

Owner of the Timber Inn where we were staying suggested we go see these falls. It was a very easy hike in & the falls were still running with some icing as well. Great photo opts :)!

Beautiful and easy to hike or walk. I could have spent all day lost in mother natures beauty. It was say to find but out of the wy Nd not crowded. We went in fall but would probably be really nice in summer when you could dip your feet in.

I am serious. It is off a beaten up road but you can get to it by car. I believe hurricane Irene had alot to do with this paved road getting torn up. But, buttermilk falls is so delightful, peaceful, and serene. Don't miss it. I love waterfalls.

Quiet, beautiful area. You can sit and be mesmerized by the water or explore and walk on the rocks. Great place for peace and quiet and unspoiled nature.

My nephew from Vermont took us to this great swimming hole. It was very hot this year in Vermont and this was a welcome break. The water is very cold and the area in and around the water is very rocky you will be lost without some type of water shoes. There was a safe place to jump off a... More

This place used to be a locals secret, and how some of us don't mind sharing our beautiful state and sights for the most part but recently there has been overcrowding here, I used to go to this secret swimming hole as a child and tried bringing my children here this past summer but there was just too many people.... I don't know if my kids will ever forget this place! They had so much fun jumping off the rocks that they want to go every summer now! From hesitant adults to scared little ones, everyone built up their confidence and had a great time!! Beautiful, and while swimming is widely accepted but not legally sanctioned, the park department maintains... More
