We live close to Galveston and ride the ferry as often as we can. Always a fun trip - feed the seagulls or watch the dolphins.
You can park and walk on. Climb the stairs to the observation deck and enjoy the ride across the bay and back. If you remember to bring bread or crackers, stand at the back of the ferry and feed the seagulls!
Been going to Galveston for close to 30 years now, we always ride the ferry, just for the fun of it. Usually spot dolphins or something in the area. Love watching the seagulls. It's just part of Galveston experience.
