Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This experience was a highlight of our trip to Ireland. Our group ranged in riding experience, from highly experienced to zero experience (me). We all had an incredible time. Even though it was my first time ever riding a horse, I always felt safe. The horses were very patient & staff were always nearby. The ride was peaceful & views were incredible. We saw a fairy fort!

I feel so lucky that I found this horse riding outfit. From the moment we arrived, this wonderful family-run stable took great care of us. The horses are adorable and easy to ride and even my 5 and 7 year old were able to ride on their own. The family that runs this outfit are kind, informative and all around, lovely. Perhaps our favorite thing was the little puppy, Freddy. Watching Freddy run after the sheep while riding in the most beautiful scenery was something we will all remember. Highly recommend!!!!

We had an incredible experience riding while in Ireland. I had no idea what to expect but it exceeded any I might have tried to conjure. Sarah taught us so much and was just lovely. The grounds are gorgeous, including woods, fields, baby lambs and a castle. And the horses were beautiful and sweet. It was truly magical and we will definitely return next time we are anywhere near County Clare!!!

Got such a warm lovely welcome from Sarah and her family. I did the classic trail which took me throughout the fairy trails and down the various fields where I got to see some stunning sheep and lovely young horses. Not to mention the historic castle that we also rode past and a bit of history. Highly recommend this classic Irish experience!

I had such a lovely time riding the countryside here. If you want a unique way to be outdoors and see the scenery, this is an excellent option. The horses were all extremely well cared for and well behaved. They take into account your riding experience too if you want to do a bit more.

My wife and I had a brilliant day at Castlefergus Equestrian as part of our honeymoon down the west coast of Ireland.
I had never ridden before but was immediately set at ease with my horse Barney, who got me around safely despite trying to eat any vegetation he came across! My wife also enjoyed her horse, Magpie, who was a bit smaller.
Sarah and her family set a nice pace throughout, and there are nice touches around the forest section such as fairy houses. Very highly recommended.

Family
We had a lovely afternoon on a family of 4 trek accompanied by Alan and Morgan. Absolute gentlemen who guided us around. The trek is really lovely through fairy trail and up through fields along stream. Our son and daughter loved the afternoon and were completely in love with their horses. An afternoon we would highly recommend to any family. Great day out and continued success to castlefergus equestrian.

I don't know if private riding lessons are charged differently then trail rides. We did a trail ride. Contact them and they will likely respond quickly.

? cost for a 1 hour trail ride for 1 adult & 1 child with minimal experience. How far in advance would we need to book?

I can't remember the price, but we booked for four people only two or three hours in advance.
How much does it cost

Have forgotten but about €50 per adult & €40 per child to my best recollection. Why not phone and see if there are deals to be done
