Hard review to write by this former Colorado boy ... HOWEVER, Knoxville is doing a good job following almost the same path as my former state with an emphasis on outdoors. Soon you will be able to find the greenways everywhere like you do the Highline Canal in Denver. Good job folks and thanks for myself and my children

This greenway is gorgeous, and a wonderful place to run, walk, or ride your bike. It is shaded, so you can run in the summer. Even if you aren't a huge runner I recommend this, it's so beautiful you won't even realize you are exercising!

This greenway is so nice that the Knoxville marathon uses it in its course. Adding the trail/road system in Sequoya Hills allows for a few more scenic miles. However, I would not use this greenway at night to ensure one's safety.

The walking areas here are wonderful. The only drawback is the cyclist, some do not warn you when they are coming...just flying by. The pathways follow the creek is a great soothing environment.

As part of Knoxville's enormous network of Greenways, this one is great because it connects the UT campus area to the Bearden area of west knoxville and is paved for use by bikes as well as runners. It connects to a lot of other greenways branching to other areas of the city as well, and if it's your starting poing... More

Knoxville was founded in 1794, between First Creek and Second Creek, and eventually expanded west past Third, Fourth and Ten Mile Creeks, all of which flow into the Tennessee River. If you visit the city, and you've brought your dog, your bike or your running/walking shoes, then the approximately five-mile-long greenway that follows Third Creek will provide a pleasant outing...
