If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, fist pumping of Myrtle beach then this is the place to be. Less Crowds, softer sand... plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some Sand Dunes and the Beach. In town the beach is free, but for $5 you buy a little serenity and isn't that why...

The State park is a excellent destination if you wish to sit back and get out of the distractions in the city. There is a fee to enter the park by the car or by the person which is becoming the norm across the country for many of the better state parks.
The pier offers fishing but the cost is...

This was our first visit to Myrtle Beach State Park and thought the beach itself was great! We spent our entire visit on the beach on the left side of the pier. We just purchased an RV and went to the Park to check out the sites and prices. The guard at the gate was very helpful, answering all our questions and giving us a brochure. Will definitely be back.
Very nice park. We camped in a motorhome. There are some sights with 50 amp and some with sewer. The rest are 30 amp and no sewer hook-ups. Very clean and maintained. Staff are very friendly. Camp store has all the necessities you may have forgotten. We forgot marshmallows!! They also sell firewood.
admission was cheap; $5 per person adult price. there wasn't much to see, just a pier and a beach and some trails. if you have time left in your vacation and you dont' have anywhere else to go, then come here. otherwise don't bother.
We came here just before sunset for a short walk. We're letterboxers and unfortunately we weren't able to find any boxes. It was still a nice area and interesting to walk from the beach to the woodland area. The pier was the best thing. The kids loved seeing the fisherman and looking at the sunset.
wonderful place for pet to explore and enjoy!Wooded areas, trails and beach-Staff extremely friendly!
Pretty open space, not a lot of trails or privacy, Huntington state park is a million times better to me and just a short drive south
