It is a sad state when you have to listen to foul language, wade your way through homeless people and see a park that has deteriorated into a homeless shelter. I would not take my children there. The city of Columbia should be ashamed.

Even though it is downtown, it seems secluded from the street activity. It has a nice park for kids to play. Lots of water features. I enjoyed sitting on the swings around the fountain and traversing through the pond.
The waterfall and green space are a nice idea. The only thing that bothered me about this park was the amount of homeless people and possible safety concerns,
It is a lovely place with a lake, falls, birds, benches to have a rest and with a beautiful city view. It is worth a visit even if you have just a little time. It is true that there are some homeless people there, but at the "worst" they just greeted us nicely, and were not disturbing actually when we...

Finley Park is located near the center of government and commerce in the Capitol City of Columbia, SC. It features large grassy areas, shade, a performance venue, restaurant (seasonal), and a landmark fountain cascading down at least 6 flights. Wonderful paths and views make it a favorite with children. Across the upper rim, porch swings line more walkways, providing a...

This beautiful park has been taken over by the homeless, which is such a shame because it has always been a wonderful place. I hope that this will change for the better, and regular citizens be able to visit...

My family and I went her yesterday. The park looks very nice. However, it filled with homlesses. Because the area look unsafe, we couldn't enjoy our time and we leaft early.
We enjoy Finley Park in downtown Columbia. They do a summer concert series where you can bring your own chairs, and there are some food vendors or you may bring your own. Free family fun!
Went to this park on a Sunday afternoon in October because of its waterfall feature seen on this site. The park itself is quite nice with the waterfall feature which is really cool and the swinging benches and large open green space for picnic or playing games. However, the homeless like to congregate here and the park didn't feel all...

Big park, great grassy areas for playing frisbee or picnicking or what have you. Great playgrounds for children. But I wouldn't ever stay after dark. The homeless community often stays in/around Finley Park.
