This is a RI secret. In the afternoons after a day at the beach, stop here to meet the fishing boats coming back with their daily catch. Lobsters & crabs to take home and make the freshest seafood dinner ever!! More

Nice place to go for a road trip. Small village with a lovely beach. Nice restaurants and great for walking. Nice just to sit and watch all the boats come and go. More

Please note that Galilee is strictly a commercial fishing village with nowhere to stay and bar type restaurants featuring fried fish, etc. It is where you get the ferry to Block Island. I don't think there is a beach, there are no shops, etc. I don't think there is a beach, but there are public beaches a short 10 minute... More

I have been eating here every year whenever I come to Rhode Island; and before that, when I lived with my parents. Because most of their business is at the take out window, there is never a long wait. Located in the middle of the fishing village right in front of the Block Island Ferry. The seafood is fresh and... More

There is an area on the North side of the road to Galilee where you can go clamming. Coming from Texas, we had never done this and had a great time! All you need is a bucket for your clams. Here's how it works. During low tide, you park on the side of the road and walk out into the... More

Even if you are just going to have a peak around, it's worth it. It's beautiful to visit. Great spot for taking photos. The sunsets are usually good too. We also took the Frances Fleet fishing charter and have taken the Block Island Ferries out from here. If you have your own boat or jetski, viewing this area from the... More

I went on an overnight seabird trip with the Frances Fleet, traveling to the edge of the continental shelf. The captain did a fine job approaching and following birds. Overall, I had a good trip. Birders are a rough-and-ready group and are used to basic accommodations. However, the Frances Fleet fell short in a few ways. These may or may... More

As a displaced Rhode Islander who continues to return to Narragansett every summer, this is what I think of when I describe Rhode Island to people. Certainly not like the more touristy beach areas around Newport, this one is still functioning with fishing boats coming in every night, but has lots of great restaurants all around to satisfy people just... Galilee is a real gem. One of the few remaining active professional fishing villages in Rhode Island. Features great seafood restaurants that offer the best lobster rolls anywhere and great steamers. Have a beer while watching the professional fishing boats and the ferries pass through the channel between Galilee and Jerusalem. More
