We took some of our wedding photos here as the views are beautiful and the lighthouse is an island staple! It is definitely worth the trip to stop here just to take in the beautiful scenery. The history of the lighthouse is also interesting to learn about... it was originally built in the late 1800s because the southeast part of... More

This lighthouse has been featured in the backdrop of many professional photo shoots, including cataolg covers for Vineyard Vines and JCrew. The picture I have with my wife and the lighthouse in the background is one of my favorite pictures. This is a must stop when visiting Block Island, it is one of the most spectacular lighthouses you will ever... More

If you pay the insanely high price to go to the top of the lighthouse ($20 pp I think) on a clear day you can see 4 states & the entire coast of RI. But...if you don't do that (I didn't) the view from ground level/cliff level is beautiful & worth a stop for sure. You don't have to pay... More

It is interesting to see, just how important lighthouses were and are to the sailing community. This lighthouse was endangered, however, people had the foresight to relocate it for safety. The view is, of course, spectacular.

We rented bikes (omg, please only do this if you are in shape!) My mom is in her 60's and had to walk her bike up the hills that are on the way to the lighthouse. So do yourself a favor and rent a moped or take a van tour. The lighthouse itself is nice to see and gives you... More

Worth the ride but definitely not for someone who doesn't want to feel the burn. Bring water. It's worth the ride.

Worth the $ for a tour to the top! The view is amazing and the history is fascinating. Thanks to the folks who recognize the importance of helping to keep these unreplacable pieces of American History.

We stopped to look over the ocean during our moped ride of Block Island. It was pretty scenic but watch out for the geese droppings!

The Southeast Lighthouse is not to be missed on a trip to Block Island. It is one of the most beautiful lighthouses I've ever seen. The history and the efforts to restore it are very interesting.
