So so glad we took a trip to the lighthouse. We couldn't get parking at the top where the lighthouse is so we'd to park down the hill (saved us $7) the views are absolutely breathtaking and its well worth the walk up. We even managed to see dolphins which just added to the trip. The lighthouse itself is lovely... More

You can walk up to the light house from the beach or drive up. The view was magnificent. We have both the day and sun set view! From the light house, you can take the steps down to the easterly lookout and the trail to the beach. We only took the steps to the cape and made our way back... More

I went to the lighthouse at 5. (you can park your car for free and walk 5 minutes up a hill to he lighthouse). There is limited parking for this option though. You could also have guaranteed parking at the top ($7) The views are UNREAL and I went when the sun was setting. I was by myself and it... More

Definitely worth going for a look. We went midweek in the quiet season and mid morning so there weren't many people. We got straight in for a lighthouse tour also. There isn't much parking at the top, so be prepared for the possibility of a long walk up the hill and/or a wait for the parking. It costs $7 to... More

If in Byron, the lighthouse is definitely worth checking out. We saw whales off the beach when we went, and the walk along the beach is nice as well.

There is very limited parking at the lighthouse so be prepared for a long traffic queue and then a wait for a space to become free. Because of time restrictions although we stuck with the traffic queue we could not wait for a parking space. Having said that the views are magnificent, most of which we saw whlst waiting in... More

Great views and walking paths. Also, you can stop by the most eastern point in Australia. The day we were walking around up here there were a bunch (pod?) of dolphins surfing waves for quite a while. It was a blast to watch. Lots of picture opportunities.

I choose to hike up to the lighthouse as opposed to going by car. The hike is not to long however it is somewhat strenuous due to a large number of earthen stairs. If you want the exercise but with less strain on your knees I would walk on the roadway instead. The hike was well worth it. The setting... More
