Tours include the award-winning “Best of Portland,” showcasing what makes Portland such a fabulous place to live and visit (daily, 10 AM and 2 PM); our scandalous “Underground Portland,” aka "the worst of Portland," revealing both the physical and metaphorical subterranean story of Portland's sordid past; the eerie “Beyond Bizarre”, a hands-on exploration of Portland's paranormal, using real ghost-hunting equipment as seen on shows like "Ghost Adventurer" (TM) and "Paranormal State" (TM); our delicious “Epicurean Excursion” walking tour, a tasty immersion into Portland's amazing culinary "slow food" scene; our indulgent “Chocolate Decadence Tour," exploring and sampling chocolate in its many solid and liquid forms, from bean to bar and everything in between; "Roses Gone Wild!", which dishes the dirt on Portland's famous International Rose Test Gardens; and "Flavor Street," where you taste the best of Portland's incredible food cart scene - and skip the rest. « less

We learned lots about Portland..we had a fantastic guide, Richard, who had a great amount of knowledge and enthusiasm for his city. We found it very informative and it was a great way to get a feel for the city

My sister and I recently did the walking tour of Portland's food truck "pods" with Alyssa. She was fabulous! She arrived with bottled waters for the 2 of us, (it was a warm day) and we walked our way around tasting everything from dim sum to smoked salmon chowder. It covered every ethnic cuisine imaginable, and went from "down home"... More

My wife and I took the 2 pm general walking tour offered by Portland Walking Tours. The walk is not difficult, but it took about 3 hours because the group had so many questions and discussions of the topics the guide, Richard, covered. We learned so much about Portland that we cannot remember more than a fraction of it, but... More

A great way to experience the old areas of the city is to meander through the streets which were among the first to be created in Portland. This walk puts you in touch with buildings constructed in the late 1800's when the city was emerging on the west side of the river. Start at SW Pine and SW First Avenue.... More

The first time I visited Portland I had walked from my home in California, on a Planetwalk across the country. Since then I had been back to the city many times on book tours or for speaking engagements, but I had never learned so much about Portland as when I took the Portland Walking tour after my last speaking engagement... My son and I went on one of 7 Portland Walking tours offered. We took the Underground Portland tour that dealt with the cities sub-culture and a lot of the seedier, "color" side of Portland, OR history. From cop corruption to Shanghaiing, the 2 hour walking tour was a pleasure as our guide, Elizabeth, led us through the streets (not... More

Dear PDX_Guy, Thanks for the fab review! We're glad you enjoyed Elizabeth's unique and charming story-telling ability as you saw the "worst" of Portland. Yes, as you point out, it's not just about going Under the streets - it's about exploring the city's seedy underbelly, too. Just to be clear... even though it's about nasty stuff, it's not a "nasty"... More

Tour taken: Beyond Bizarre Time: 10pm on a Sunday night Weather: Mild and warm Review: Our tour guide for the evening was a gentleman by the name of Kevin, who spoke clearly; keeping the majority of people interested with numerous anecdotes and tales from times gone by. Even when scientific facts were used to explain certain anomalies, he acknowledged the... More

Dear ukscots, Thanks for the "spirited" review of Beyond Bizarre! You have done a great job of explaining why you love the tour without requiring any "spoiler alerts" - kudos to you! We'd like to point out that this tour has almost no overlap with the Best of Portland tour, as the two are currently constructed. Other than a very... More

The "Beyond Bizarre" tour was very informational and entertaining. I have lived in Portland nearly all of my life and never seen, or heard that side of the city. Donna was very detailed and provided some entertaining moments, not to mention entertainment provided by others along the route! The ghost hunting portions were very interesting and provided some mystery as... More

Dear Pdblery, Thanks for your fun, great review of "Beyond Bizarre!" While we're sorry to hear of your date's shoulder getting haunted (we hope the spirits return to our tour locations - they're much more useful and less painful there), we're glad you had such a fantastic time with Donna. She leads a great ghost-hunting experience, doesn't she? While we... More

We were a group of eight. From all over the world. Went went to a huge variety of places. I had a great cup of of coffee from a small place that roasts their own, a lavender honey ice cream sandwich, drinking chocolate, wine, pickled fiddle head ferns and so much more. Got to learn about Portland too. A walking... More

Our guide, David, made the Best of Portland walking tour the absolute greatest! I would highly recommend this adventure for people visiting Portland, and also for those who have lived here for years. I thought this would be kind of boring, as I have lived in the area all my life, but boy, was I wrong! I learned so much... More

Dear Beverly, Thanks for the glowing review! We're glad you enjoyed David's great story telling ability. What's even more wonderful is that all of it is true!
