Located on 7 acres with lakes, fountains, waterfalls and wild life, it is an urban oasis. More than 2,500 rhododendrons, azaleas, and companion plants in the garden all of which have been donated by volunteers and interested individuals, or purchased with specially donated funds. Beginning in early spring and continuing into summer, they provide a magnificent display of color, giving... More

My daughter introduced me to this special place. It was a bit early for all the rhododendrons but that was okay. The water elements were wonderful. The bridges and walkways were peaceful. It was a nice place for a stroll.

This is a wonderful spot for Spring time or summer walks (have,n't tried Fall and Winter). Rhodies are spectacular.

We happened to visit Portland at the height of the rhododendron bloom. It was simply spectacular. Some blooms were as large as a small pumpkin. Great variety of rhodies, beautiful grounds, magnificent color show.

I enjoyed Crystal Springs one early morning (entry is free before the office opens) and loved the winding paths and huge Rhodys. It is a great place for photographers. I noticed that it was accessible with wheelchairs and walkers doing well on the concrete paths (with someone else with them).

We are members of the Friends of Crystal Springs so go there as often as we can. April through May is the best time to see all the rhododendrons and azaleas and other rare plants in bloom. But anytime the garden provides peace and beauty with several waterfalls, a Lake adjacent to a beautiful golf course, and a pond filled... More

The minute the sun comes out in May head to the Rhodeodendron Garden! OMG! If you want to see exploding color everywhere in pinks, purples, oranges, yellows, reds and every color in between, this is the place! The lovely paths, ponds, bridges and staircases give you lots of destinations for photo opportunities. Give yourself two hours to oooh and ahhh... More

A relatively small garden with great variety of wonderful specimens. Take your camera, especially if the flowers are in bloom. We were very lucky. It is very peaceful and quiet, so you can enjoy the garden and the fish and waterfowl even if there are few or no blossoms.

I went with in-laws in mid May. This was just a little past peak but everything except the really early Rhodies was still in bloom. This park is a great mix of flowers, trails, large firs, meadows, water and bridges. The only downside is that the flowers are only out for 6 weeks or so. Admission is charged during the... More

The flowers at the end of April were spectacular! Most people are there just to appreciate some quiet beauty. There were a few families with strollers but it isn't really a place for young children as there is not enough activity. Teens may also find it boring.
