What a great little (quaint) town. Lots of shops downtown and public restrooms are provided. However, lodging and dining are expensive so we choose to stay in nearby Seaside (only 8 miles away) and come visit Cannon Beach.

Cannon Beach is one of the most beautiful places I've been on the West coast. I was there this past weekend with a friend and we absolutely loved it! We had plans to visit Portland, but ended up staying on the beach instead. I highly recommend visiting this area if you're ever on the Oregon coast.
We travelled to Canon Beach by bus at the beginning of May and got to experience Canon Beach on a nice sunny (albeit windy/cold) day. The tide was out when we arrived and by the time we were leaving it hand come back in.
The beach had very few visitors so you really go to take some great photos without...

All ages of folks, kids and dogs coexisting peacefully together. And having a wonderful time. Bald eagles to tufted puffins were flying about.
A must if you are travelling in the upper oregon state area. The beach is just so beautiful. Despite the very ordinary weather on arrival the landscape/beach was still more beautiful than what i was expecting. The little community servicing the tourists that we encountered were so polite. A place that I would return to any time.
Visited in very early May and it was still quite cold at the beach. We visited the rocks and found ourselves immersed in the tide pools! The abundance of sea-life in this little pools was astonishing, I think we spend a good 2 hours just walking through them.
The little town itself was very inviting as we stopped at the...

It is worth every second to visit this amazing little town. Breathtaking views, fun shopping and good eats. We stayed in Seaside and made excursions every day to Cannon. It's a short drive, and a lot cheaper to stay in Seaside!
I have been to many Oregon Coast communities. I was expecting the normal mish mash of bright purple buildings alongside weather worn buildings that are common among coastal towns. cannon beach is different. It is a clean, quiet, well planned community. There are no huge mega hotels or shopping centers. Yet everything you need is available. Make sure you head...

Beautiful!!! We went at low tide and the rocks in the water and tide pools were covered with starfish.
Haystack Rock was spectacular. Had great weather. Very beautiful town and spectacular coastline south of Cannon Beach. Restaurants could be better, but were adequate. Not cheap, however. Shops were interesting and their were some nice galleries.
