A Christmas Story House, now restored to its movie splendor, is open year round to the public for tours. Directly across the street from the house is the official A Christmas Story House Museum, which features original props, costumes and memorabilia from the film, as well as hundreds of rare behind-the-scenes photos. Among the props and costumes are the toys from the Higbee’s window, Randy’s snowsuit and zeppelin, the chalkboard from Miss Shields’ classroom and the family car. After reliving A Christmas Story at Ralphie’s house don’t forget to visit the museum gift shop for your own Major Award Leg Lamp and other great movie memorabilia.

We did actually meet the actor who played Randy while we were there, and got some great pictures with him and of the house. We took the whole family for Christmas Eve and had a great time kicking off the Holiday and the whole family in the pink Bunny Suit will definitely make a great Christmas card for next year....

What a wonderful, magical way to kick off the Holidays! If you're a fan of the movie (and I know only ONE person who doesn't love it), make a point to come out and spend some time here. Some many places tell you NOT to touch the items in the house-here they let you take pictures and hold props wile you do it. Take you own photo of your child with a bar of lifebouy in his hands. Bring your camera and movie memories.

I visited the house after asking around as to what unusual attractions there were in town. It was absolutely the best ten dollars I've spent in a very long time. The walk down memory lane was an absolute delight.

Don't miss the Christmas Story House! I appreciated how well organized they keep the visits, making sure that the house doesn't get too crowded with guests all at once. But, that said, they were very welcoming and willing to let you come back in after your visit time if you felt like you wanted more time for more pictures.

It is in not the greatest part of town...Really hard to find..They charge you to take the tour but we looked throgh the front window for free...Went in the back yard where he shot his eye out...
