I volunteer at the Estuarium because I have such respect for the museum and staff. The most interesting people in the world come in through the Estuarium's doors. And, from April through October, inquire about the free river roving boat trip on the Pamlico/Tar River.

Such a wonderful place to visit. I've been there several times with school groups and the kids always love it. Also, has a great gift shop that everyone needs to visit.

Fun place to visit. Excellent information about rivers, estuaries and climate change. Be sure to view the large sculpture in the lobby and to hear the story.

Good day trip for the kids! Highly educational and lots to look at. They have a great park across the street for lunch on a nice day.

Whether you are an adult or a child, or a childlike adult, the Estuarium offers something for everyone. In addition to the displays, there is a gift shop. River Rover tours, let by an experienced guide, take folks out on the Pamlico to see a variety of nature. Some are specific, such as the mistletoe one. There is a modest... More

Great little museum right on the water. Inter active and live critters. The staff is very helpful and the exhibits are a great learning experience.

Very professionally done. Excellent information on the "estuary" where the salt and fresh waters meet to form a unique nursery for many fish and animals. Not great for kids under 7 unless they are great nature lovers.

The Estuarium is a unique museum devoted to giving you an introduction to the diverse life of the estuaries that are so important to the coast of North Carolina. You can visit the exhibits in an hour or less. It was well designed and would appeal to children as well. The building itself and its position on the riverfront --... More

Head out from the NC Estuarium on their 12 passenger pontoon boat for a delightful 1.5 hr.ride on the Pamlico/Tar River. This river tour alone was worth our visit! You depart from a pleasant, modern waterfront with brick walkway, benches and lights. The captain provides friendly down-home commentary on local history, economic development in the area, and best of all,... More

The Estuarium is very informative! Very friendly staff, clean and well kept. If your in town you need to stop by and check this place out. They also have a free boat ride that takes you right out on the river, only certain Saturday, but you have to reserve ahead.
