My husband and I included this spot on a winery tour we did in Chatham County. Located right in historic Pittsboro, this place is a little treasure. Lovely assortment of wines made from honey. The folks give great information and background. Lovely place to browes as well and conveniently located.

When you think of Mead, the heart of central North Carolina is probably not the first thing that comes to mind! You probably think of Renaissance Fairs, Vikings and old English castles. We hope to change that! Starrlight Mead, located in Pittsboro at the Chatham Mill, is North Carolina’s newest honey winery. Using local NC honey, and lots of love, we are crafting award winning honey wine to surprise and delight you.We do Mead Tasting any time that we are open. Tasting of our available meads is $5.00, and you get to keep the glass! Stop by for a bottle of mead (honey wine), a tour of the facility and a friendly welcome. If you have not tried mead before – just ask, we will be glad to share our love of this extraordinary beverage with you!

My wife and I have had mead elsewhere and were not impressed. However, Starlight Mead changed our opinions about meads. Worth the visit! Highly recommend the Meadhito!

I had no idea what mead was before visiting Starrlight. The owner was behind the bar when we were there, and she spent a lot of time informing us about the history and making of mead.
