I love going to Duke gardens in the spring time especially. It is spectacular! Has a good layout and easy walking paths for most folks. It's a fun place for an early date night picnic too or just to play some frisbee.

Went on Mother's Day for a picnic. It was crazy busy with Mother's Day and new Duke graduates, but it was still absolutely beautiful. Exceeded our expectations.
We had a great time in the garden as three generational family looking at gardens and feeding the ducks. Highly recommended when in Durham.
I spent 3 hours walking pretty much non-stop and still didn't see everything! It is truly a magnificent piece of paradise on Earth! It is a place to revisit over and over as the colors change weekly. A beautiful backdrop for any type of photos: wedding, prom, engagement, etc. Also, a marvelous place to picnic, read a book, or just...

There you can enjoy a little trail and even sit in a little cabin for meditation. Although the large formal garden area is the popular side to the garden, don't forget to...

My wife and I went here with our seven-month old son to celebrate her first mother's day with a picnic. I wasn't particularly excited but I have to say it was a wonderful day. It was busy, but not crowded, and after walking around the various gardens we decided to have our picnic in a large open patch of grass...

I had no idea this was so close to our home. It is breathtaking. I went in the spring and the azaleas were blooming. Bring tissues if you have allergies. I can't wait to go back in the summer and fall to see the changes in the flowers.
Beautiful sites and smells everywhere you walk. The Terrace Gardens take your breath away. The peaceful asian pond is exactly that - after walking the gardens a great place to relax and meditate. Definitely a must see if you are in the area. The blooms change regularly so you could never get bored. You could spend hours here, bring a picnic...
