This is well worth stopping in when you are near the airport. Lots of old planes and aviation history here to gaze through. people are willing to share the knowledge they have.

Visited with my two young children and it was a great experience. Kids enjoyed all the aircrafts and getting to sit in a cockpit. Employees are very knowledgable and helpful. The "miracle" jet is definitely a highlight. Amazing to see it in person.

Once a small, local museum, the new Carolinas Aviation Museum has grown up and is now a Smithsonian affiliate! Its central, most widely-known exhibit is the "Miracle on the Hudson" airplane -- the actual plane that went down in New York City's Hudson River in January of 2009. There is an excellent movie about that incident and many artifacts from... More

The plane that Captain Sully ended up landing in the Hudson River is at this museum. I got choked up just looking at it.

The Miracle on the Hudson really made it worth while. They just recently moved in the hangers so they should be able to keep evolving.

My husband is a pilot and aircraft mechanic and we love flying so it was a natural place for us to visit. They had lots of great static displays and we were even able to get inside one. I would like to go back and see the plane that landed on the Hudson River.

This museum is small compared to the Smithsonian at Dulles, yes, but it's VERY well done. We had a great time here and would definitely return, especially with others that haven't been here. THe USAirways Aircraft that landed on the Hudson was incredible! Amazing and inspiring. The A&E (?) special on this flight was looping at the back of the... More

Pay close attention to the directions/signage to find the museum, but it is a GREAT way to spend an afternoon. The attraction has enough to interest people of all ages, and to see the "Miracle on the Hudson" plane is a true awakening to what a miracle it is that all of the passengers and crew survived. To see how... More

You have to have perspective here. If you have ever been to the Smithsonian or air force museum in Dayton or air museum in Tucson, this museum simply doesn't measure up. Miracle on the Hudson plane is the highlight along with bring able to go into the cockpit if a fighter jet. Can see the whole museum in less then... More
