Sorry to say, but this museum doesn't have much to offer on most days. However, they do sometimes have special exhibits, events and classes, so check out their website to see if there is anything special going on.

This museum and it's sister museum (which is Uptown are great). I have to say that this one is a bit better, but, it depends on what you enjoy so I suspect both have something for everyone. It's in a nice park area so maybe a picnic would have been a good idea. Well worth the trip.
We are very fortunate to have both of these musuems. Check out their website for up to date lectures, exhibits and free items for members.
My wife and I wanted once again to experience some culture. Visited the art museum when my aunt and uncle came to visit. Great works of art, just be careful when and what you take a picture of. I was not paying attention to the signs and was quickly asked (nicely) to not take pictures in one room. Nice and...

The uptown Mint Museum is well worth visiting. Their Romare Beardon collection is well worth the price of admission, and their special exhibitions are always interesting.

I enjoy coming to this museum a couple of times a year. The special exhibits are great. They have free lectures once a month that are very interesting. I love this museum and hope they continue to be a part of Charlotte for years to come.
We showed up late in the afternoon on a day when we had just arrived and decided to just spend a few moments at this museum. We wound up wishing that we had all day to spend here. I suppose how much time you spend at a museum depends on how interested you are in the particular items on display...

Wow! Went with my 3yr old and 5 yr old so things were on an "accelerated" timeline (gotta keep those attention spans focused). They LOVED the kids arts and crafts room on the main lobby. I'm a big modern art fan and I loved the displays related to that time. I was here at the time of the WOOD show....

The collection of painting at the Mint (Randolph) is small and limited in scope, but its exhibits of pottery (especially the current special exhibit featuring Henry Cohen), ceramics, and textiles is worth a visit. Don't miss the room featuring contemporary Carolina potters. This museum has no cafe, so fuel up before you arrive.
