If this is affiliated with the one in East Hampton, then I really like this place. I have never been to the one in Southampton. It has very unusual and different items. It is a bit costly, but worth it.

Hildreth's seems to have an uncanny sense of what homeowners will need. They always have what I want, the quality is high, the prices are sensible and the service intelligent and interested.
from the outside, Hildreth's in Southampton looks like you might want to pass it by. WRONG. Go in... you'll be pleasantly surpized! This very old department store has everything you need and then some! They carry top of line goods! Linens and patio supplies are excellent.
If I was buying a beach house this is exactly where I would shop my heart out! With every kind of fine linen, fine lotions and soaps, luxurious bath robes, and great decor for the house this is the place for home shopping! It's like a mini department store without any commercialism.
Very high quality and beautiful things. You'll want to buy everything.
This is a historic business, founded in 1842. The sales people are all super nice and professional. The furnishings/furniture quality is excellent. The reason i do not give it the highest rating is that it is a super conservative store, with conservative pieces, almost a dated feel to the store. The selections are not unusual or unique.
Hildreth's is charm itself. It carries items as diverse as kitchen knives to luxury bedding to custom draperies to notions! And its great age (oldest department store in America!) means the building just rambles...the flreakywide plank hardwood floors, and staircases go up one place and come down somewhere else...magical!
What fun to go into a store with so much history! Found everything we needed and then some. Even the kids were impressed!
If y ou need anything for the home, this is the spot. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Many times I end of going to Gracious HOmes in the city and then find out that I could have gotten most of it right in Southampton!
The store is wonderful, the creeking wood floor are reminiscent of days gone by and the variety of inventory can't be found in any "department" store today. My favorite department is the lamps and lampshades - believe it or not! The prices are high - but this IS the Hamptons, but a walk through is nothing short of delightful.
