Nice hike. Very short but enjoyed what we saw. Some old ruins of mills, waterfalls by a man made dam, interesting foliage.
Follows the former Short Line Railroad bed. It goes one mile through Skaneateles' Mottville where once industry thrilled along the creek because of hydro - power. Three bridges, lots of ruins, great trail!
Since the Skaneateles Suites are dog friendly, we always bring our Black Lab with us to New York. Besides the dog park, the Charlie Major Nature Trail was a great place for us to walk. We had the opportunity to enjoy it during all four seasons. A wonderful walk.
This is a little known place to relax and enjoy nature. If you have a dog, they too are welcome and owners are respectful of the trail. It is shaded and level and appeals to just about any age.
