We visited the Walkway twice during out stay in the area. It's well maintained and a lovely view with informational posters along the way telling the history of the Walkway. Be sure to access it on the Highland side. Parking there is ample and easier to access than on the Poughkeepsie side, where you have to park on the street.... More

Abandoned for decades, this must see pedestrian walkway across the Hudson River offers views up and down the river unlike any you can get from any other bridge! A former railway bridge, it now is a wide walkway that is used for walking, jogging, and biking. NOTE: I'm somewhat afraid of heights but this pedestrian bridge is very easy to... More

Walking or biking you get a spectacular birds eye view of the Hudson River Valley. Any season is wonderful and any time if day...just enjoy a leisurely or sprint walk suspended in mid air. Enjoy.

We enjoyed our walk on this bridge on a beautiful day with the temperature in the 70's. Nice breeze on the bridge, great views, interesting history panels along the bridge. All in all a great way to spend an hour or so in Poughkeepsie. Free street parking is available near the stairway to the bridge on the east end.

Nice view.... It was an extremely hot day, but there was a slight breeze in the middle....Not recommended if the temperature is 95 degrees...

It was quite an accomplishment to turn a burnt down railway bridge into a pedestrian walkway to become the world's longest elevated pedestrian park. However, its really not a park. It's a 1.28 mile long concrete 'road' (that must get blistering hot in the summer) albeit with panoramic views up and down the Hudson. I expected something closer to the... More

Walking the largest pedestrian suspension bridge in the US was a great way to start the day. The views of the Hudson and surrounding hillsides are awesome!

This is the world's longest elevated pedestrian park. You'll be over 200 feet in the air on what was once the only rail bridge linking both sides of the Hudson River. It's 24 feet wide and 1.28 miles long. Popular with walkers, runners and cyclists Worth a visit!

We've been here several times. It's a nice place to stroll, take pictures, and view the 4th of July fireworks. It's free most of the time, but they did charge for the fireworks. Worth it though to be almost on the same level so you don't crane your neck!

This is a great use of on an old railway bridge. Accessible to all and well looked after. The views are amazing. A great way to spend half a day.
