disappointing plus there was a street fair - hard to get to the park but I've heard this is a really good carousel. Rest of the park seemed safe and good for dog walking.
We were in town for the night and learned of this attraction on Tripadvisor. What a great service to the community to have a FREE carousel in a park! My family rode it four times and we would have stayed longer if we had the time. The staff was very friendly. Highly recommend if you have kids and are in... More
My ten-year-old granddaughter loves the carousel here. She usually rides several of the horses over the course of each visit. There's also swings, playground equipment for older children as well as a smaller version for toddlers. There's a spray park in summer months, to cool off. They also have restrooms which were renently remodeled.
Very clean. A must see for children of all ages. I took my 4 children and they had a blast. A great lesson in history.
All of the Carousels in the area are free - there are 6 and they are all fun. If you ride all 6 you get a button. The park itself is small but go for the ride.
i grew up riding this carousel and i still love it just as much as i did when i was 5
The carousel in this park has been recently renovated and they added a very nice (small, but free) spray playground. This park also has a small but decent playground. Other parts of this park are in the process of being renovated--during the summer a sign said that the restrooms were going to be redone in the fall. It is also... More
I also have parents who grew up in Johnson City. Both of my grandparents worked at the shoe factory. We used to go up there every summer. What at wonderful time that was. The park was out of this world! It was a big park! It had all kinds of rides, a huge swimming pool, the merry go round, etc.... More
My Dad grew up in Johnson City, my grandparents worked at the shoe factory. We visited JC every summer when I was a kid the carousel was always my favorite (greene's field pool was another favorite! and the little shops on Harry L. Dr. where I would buy candy) Those were the days!
One of six working carousels in the region given by George F. Johnson, this is the largest 72 animal carousel. Patrons can ride for free. This carousel was made in 1923 it is in very good condition. This is the most decorative of the carousels in the region. It has original scenic panels and beveled mirrors. Carousel enthusiasts will enjoy... More
