This is a great spot for kids and adults alike. It is a turn of the 20th century working farm. Lots of hands on activities. There were baby chicks for the kids and a lot of interesting buildings to go in and view the way things were done in the 1800's. The volunteers were wonderful and full of information about... More

At the time of this review the Farmer's Museum has a special exhibition featuring pickup trucks and how they changed the nature of the American Farm. The vehicles will be on display until the fall. We visited on a special weekend that included a pickup truck drive-in where additional trucks were brought by their owners for a "show on the... More

This is a cute historic village that demontrates life in the 1840's or so. The exhibits are great and the period staff knowledgeable. There is a carousel for the little ones.

We got there towards the end of the day, but we had a good time with what we saw. The docents were welcoming, helpful and informative (we talked to the broommaker, the weaver, the blacksmith and the printer). The exhibits were good--you got a very good feel for what life was like in the mid-1800s.

The museum is very peaceful with a sizable number of buildings. Interpreters in costume elaborate on the buildings' uses and the time period.

What makes the Farmer's Museum special is their interpreters. They appear to have a genuine aesthetic devotion to their crafts. They have a great depth of knowledge about their crafts and the history of the farm and the region. They are excellent storytellers and seem to genuinely enjoy talking with visitors of all ages. Additionally, the interpreters are friendly and quick... More

The Farmers' Museum provides a truly evocative visit back in time to the rural New York of the 1700's and 1800's, along with a few more modern aspects such as the hand-crafted carousel celebrating state animals and localities. The functions of the various buildings come to life through craft and farming people demonstrating their skills and knowledge; baby animals are... More

It was pouring rain and cold, but the spirit of the place made us enjoy it. The carousel ride was awesome, the little cafe very nice. Worth the price of admission.

do not miss if you are truck enthusiast the current exhibit on the popularity of the coming of the age of the pick up truck. Regardless if you are from the country or the city, this iconic symbol of Americana is something that we all can relate too (even through toys). It very tasteful done, easy to follow with even...
